Technical Support
Support for debug probes, trace probes and flash programmers
Every J-Link, J-Trace and Flasher[1] comes with one year of basic support. Any support request can only be processed if the device is registered. At the time of purchase, the following option is available to extend the basic support:
- SEGGER's Extended Coverage gives you the option to extend hardware warranty and basic support for one additional year (+12 months) or two additional years (+24 months). Adding it at a later date is not possible.
If support has expired, there are two options to regain support:
- Renewal of basic support for additional 12 months. This option is available as long as we maintain the version of your device.
- With SEGGER's Trade-In program old devices (up to ten years) can be easily traded-in for new devices and a discount of up to 50% will apply.
Basic Support
With basic support, which is included free of charge for the first year after the initial purchase, you receive first class e-mail support directly from our engineering team through our ticket system. The scope of support is one hour except for high-end models[2] where two hours apply. However, we are accommodating and happy to support you beyond this one hour but there is no entitlement. Furthermore, basic support does not cover questions about the programming language or individual custom hardware questions.
Custom Support
Custom Support (Non-recurring engineering fee) can be purchased upon request and is invoiced on an hourly basis (minimum of four hours). Our engineering team will be happy to assist you with custom hardware questions, code review, device support, integration support and/or other individual support matters. Please send an e-mail to sales@segger.com.
SEGGER Forum
The SEGGER Forum provides a platform for users of our products to interact with the community and SEGGER's engineering team. Users can post questions, share their experiences, and provide solutions. The forum is a great place to get insights from other developers who might have encountered similar issues. Many posts involve troubleshooting J-Link-related issues, debugging code, or integrating with other IDEs and tools. Next to this, members often share best practices for using SEGGER tools effectively, including performance optimizations and advanced configurations.
Please note that the SEGGER Forum is purely a community forum. Should you require technical support with guaranteed answers please check out our support options mentioned above and create a new inquiry as shown below.
