The GigaDevice GD32H77 are 32-bit general-purpose microcontrollers based on the Arm® Cortex®-M7 processor.

RAM

  • GD32H77 devices have ECC RAM which can be disabled. However, a connect to GD32H77 devices will initialize 16KB at 0x30000000. For more information, refer to the ECC article.

Watchdog Handling

  • The device has two watchdogs: a Free Watchdog Timer (FWDGT) and a Window Watchdog Timer (WWDGT).
  • The FWDGT is fed during programming if it is enabled.
  • The WWDGT is fed during programming if it is enabled and its counter value is below its window value.

Device Specific Handling

Connect

  • During target connection, the security protection level is verified. If the device is configured with protection level low (NVMC_OBSTAT0_EFT.SPC), the user is prompted to unsecure the device before proceeding.
  • A successful connection is only possible to an unsecured device.

Reset

  • The device uses normal Cortex-M reset, no special handling necessary, like described here.

Attach

Attach is a debugging feature which exclusively applies to J-Link and J-Trace and does not apply to Flasher.
