This article describes specifics for the Renesas Y-RH850-U2C-144PIN evaluation board.

Preparing for J-Link

  • Connect the J-Link to the 14-pin debug header (CN9) on the board. Note that the RH850 adapter may be needed (Available here)
  • Make sure that jumper JP8 is populated (closed) so that FLMD1 is forced low. This ensures that the RH850 device boots normally.
  • Make sure that jumper JP7 is not populated (open) so that FLMD0 can be controlled via J-Link.
  • Power the board. See the board manual for more information.
  • Verify the Connection with J-Link Commander. The output should look as follows:
