J-Link Software CMSIS-DAP

Besides J-Link, the J-Link software package also supports CMSIS-DAP probes. This article gives an overview about which CMSIS-DAP probes have been tested with the J-Link software and what features are available with CMSIS-DAP.

Tested probes

  • NXP MCU-LINK
  • NXP MCU-LINK Pro

Supported CMSIS-DAP features

  • CMSIS-DAP that enumerate via USB HID (CMSIS-DAPv1)
  • CMSIS-DAP that enumerate via USB BULK (CMSIS-DAPv2)

Limitations

  • No JTAG support
  • No J-Link Remote Server support
  • No HSS support
  • Limited RTT support (PC-side support only. Limited data throughput)
