J-Link Eco mode

J-Link Eco mode support refers to a J-Link unit supporting to run in different power modes.
It is not related to (and must not be confused with) low power modes of the target MCU, in any way!

General information

J-Link supports multiple Eco modes, which can be setup in the J-Link Configurator. Per default, Eco mode level 0 is active, which allows maximum performance.
For large test farms or similar, it may make sense to configure the J-Links for a higher Eco mode level, if not the full performance is needed, but to save significant amounts of power.

Modes

Normal

• Highest possible performance

Eco

• Less power consumption, maximum performance reduction: ~0.1%

Eco Plus

• Low power consumption, maximum performance reduction: ~1%

Eco Max

• Lowest power consumption, maximum performance reduction: ~10%
